Greetings one and all.
Yesterday I mentioned that we have a new crew member for eSquared/Springleap called David and that he was doing some awesome concepts sketches for the outside of the store in Sea Point.
I took a snap shot of his design and thought today I’d stick it up for you all to see….so what do you think?
Quite a while back our store sign for eSquared got mauled by some serious Sea Point wind and we decided instead of replacing it with the same old design we would rather do something different.
We ran through a ton of different ideas ranging from hanging fabric banners (errr no) to graffiti.
After all was said and done, the graffiti idea is what worked best with us…we thought it would look young, funky and fresh.
We spoke to quite a few artists and got some ideas, we then had to wait for the building owners to “ok” the idea before we went ahead with it….which took frigging forever dude.
Luckily they said it was cool to go ahead, as long as we sent them an idea of what the design was going to look like, that where David stepped in and lent us his design power.

One thing’s for sure, working at eSquared in Sea Point takes a certain type of person.
You have to be outgoing and ultra friendly to everybody that walks through the door…but at the same time u need to be able to defend the store from criminals and bad peeps as if you were guarding the Crown Jewels…our T-shirts are like treasure dammit LOL.
It’s kinda like tai-chi…soft, yet at times hard.
Our latest crew member goes by the name of David and is helping us draw up awesome concept sketches for the mural we want to do for the outside of the shop.
I will have those pics up for you soon enough and keep you informed as to what we decide on…and of course what the building owners let us put up *fingers and toes crossed*, but in all honesty we aren’t really worried because the designs that David has done thus far are killer cool.
The only thing left for David to do now is learn how we work here at eSquared and tune himself to the shops own special frequency….which is usually very mellow and perfect for his artistic side.
I’ve added a pic of David on the side here so that you know who to wave to when you come and visit us here at the store.
In this pic you also catch a glimpse of David’s “weapon of choice” …which is the timeless 3B pencil which in many ways is the trouble shooter of the pencil world…it’s not too heavy or too light, but juuust right.
So without further ado let me welcome the latest member of the eSquared/Springleap family, the very funky and artistic dude, David.
Take a bow bud, welcome to the team.

Hi there gang.
Another month has come and gone already and it’s now time to crown the winners of the July Springleap competition.
The designs were brilliant as usual and the race for the overall winner was fiercely contested.
What’s important is that this month we saw even more truly original design than ever before.
More and more people are hearing about Springleap and getting interested…which means more competition for all the artists and a more interesting race to the finish.
Whether you have been rooting for the cutesy character designs or the more hardcore message driven work…I’m sure there will be something for everybody.
Have you voted yet?
If you have still not voted as yet head on over to Springleap.com and get voting before it’s too late…you only have until the end of today to do so.
Show these awesome designers that you support their work and do what you need to do.
It honestly doesn’t take long to vote for all the designs and in the final analysis will help you get the designs you really dig here in eSquared.
Support the cause
