Yes indeed with so many awesome cartoon artists out there these days it’s hard to pinpoint the gems from the semi-precious. Anyways, one cartoonist that I recently stumbled across is one seriously badass mofo who goes by the name Josh Cooley.
Josh Cooley is one of the lucky few who have a chance to work day in and day out with CG mega companyPixar. Josh is a story artist who blows my mind and who also gets involved with a wide variety of projects. One in-particular that I felt I should mention is his mind blowingly uber book called Movies R Fun.
As many of you will know the very prestigious Cannes Film Festival awards have drawn to a close and the final list of winner has been announced. Every festival the illustrious Palme d’Or, AKA the Golden Palm, goes to the best film of the festival. This year a movie with a rather bizarre name scooped the top honours. Let’s check out Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s rather peculiar tale called Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives.
Yes indeed this movie title is quite a strange one, however the reviews of this movie are anything but strange…in fact they are downright amazing. Apichatpong Weerasethakul is the Thai director of this rather uniquely odd movie which is about a man who is dying from kidney failure, but who is visited by the ghost of his dead wife who comes back to look after him in his final days. His disappeared son also comes back to him…however, in the form of a furry creature.
