funky designs

funky designs

Ello ello!

Honestly I can’t count how many time people have phoned the store and asked me if we have any funky designs. Now while I do my best to find a design which indeed fits the category of funky, it has become very clear to me that every single person has their own idea of what actually constitutes funky designs. I had a look through our most recent designs from the competition and tried to connect the dots. However I’m not sure I’m any closer to a concrete theory. You let me know what you think.

Personally I feel that funky designs are best described as designs that have a certain retro vibe to them. When you think funk your mind should shoot back to the days when afro’s, bell bottoms, vinyl records and of course funk music of the 1960’s, which in itself had a very urban vibe.

It seems to happen without fail in every theme competition and I really feel it’s a phenomenon that we need to stamp out for good!

Obviously the implications of submitting the wrong designs to any particular theme competition, means that no matter how jaw droppingly amazing your design in, it still won’t win.
I mean we may all love it to the bottom of our hearts, but there is absolutely no chance that we will select a design that is incorrectly placed over a design that abides by the rules and regs of the theme. That honestly just wouldn’t be fair to the other artists.
