Greeting gamers!

Yes indeed the time is almost upon us for the arrival of Starcraft 2.
This is one of these gaming titles that seem to only be whispered about in the deepest shadows but almost felt like it would never arrive, much like its cousin Diablo3 from the Blizzard developers.
However unlike its more infernal counterpart its release is actually a reality that is “close at hand”.
Prepare for another epic war between the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg forces!

The original Starcraft was a massive gaming success and in many ways set a benchmark for strategy games of its time. Ever since then we have been waiting for the sequel which would push the boundaries of the genre. Let’s not kid around this game may have a single player option, but the real power lies in the heavy online multiplayer aspect. Many of you would have heard how Starcraft and its medieval predecessor Warcraft have become online sensations across the world and that in some Asian countries like South Korea the game has even become so popular as to be televised and have regular league competitions. While the mania is still rife here in South Africa it is by no means at the Asian level. However with the latest incarnation of the game with its new battle formats and slicker graphics, could it explode to even greater heights in deep dark Africa…well, no, if our internet connection spread has anything to say about it!

Good Thursday to you all!

While there are multitudes of different designs that come through to the Springleap.com theme competition there are certain types that I feel just don’t make the cut at times. Now I’m not talking about technical skill I’m actually referring more to the actual style used. One genre in particular that I feel gets little to no respect is the cute designs.

Cute designs come flying through to us by the dozen. I think it is actually a rather popular form of design that designers enjoy putting together. However we find that it is very seldom that the cute designs actually walk away with a win here on Springleap.com
In fact if your cute design isn’t absolutely earth shatteringly good it soon gets swept under the voting carpet. Our very first winner Quack managed to pull off a cutest design win and we cannot forget TokyoGoGo’s many winning designs that sit on the boundary of being either cute and simply cartoon.
