One of the main features of the Capetoniandance scene is the awesome summer outdoor trance parties. Unfortunately the cold winter months are almost here, which means we will all be chased indoors very soon and be forced to huddle together for warmth hehe.
However before the truly cold weather hits i suggest you hit one of the last remaining outdoors trance parties before it’s too late.
This weekend (30th April-2nd May 2010) it’s time to head to Cape Town’sA Land called Hystericaparty!
Psynopticz and Fu.Cha Gatherings combine their awesome powers in order to bring you the super funky A Land called Hysterica party. As I mentioned this will be one of the last hospitable outdoor events before Mother Nature (Gaia to her friends) turns down the heat.
This is going to be 3 full days of foot stomping dance action that will be a pity to miss…there is a definite unique atmosphere to these late summer parties that you just can’t capture at the sweltering midsummer jols. Maybe it’s the cold that draws everyone together and huddles them all in one BIG dancing mass of trance energy.
Last month I let you know about the super cool little newspaper called Hola Cape. It has a great range of events in and around Cape Town and gives travellers some really great ideas for activities and destinations. This month Hola Cape Town gives a rather insightful look at the Garden Route and its many wonderful nooks and crannies.
Anybody who has gone up the South African Garden Route will vouch for its beauty and rather eccentric hideaways. I went through the Hola Cape Town destination list and I am happy to see that there are but 2 recommended spots that I have thus far not had the opportunity to visit….I must definitely head out that direction asap!
I’ve seen just about every type of shopper you can imagine in my years working in the Springleap.com store in Sea Point. Most shoppers seem to have a good “store manners” and are generally very pleasant to deal with, of course I have dealt with quite a few shoppers that really bring you down. What can I say you have to simply take the good with the bad, you can’t have retail perfection every single day. There is one type of shopper however that really does burn my proverbial biscuit and those are spiteful shoppers that refuse to spread the word about a shop that is doing something special or has a great product.
Truth to tell I have lost count of the people who tell me that they have friends and family that will never tell them where they buy a specific item. It seems that when people find a store that has a good thing going they don’t want anybody else to know where it is….these are what I call spiteful shoppers. The worst thing about them is that they are sometimes regulars with whom I have a very good relationship with. While I suppose it is a compliment that they don’t want anyone else to have our cool stuff because they want to be unique, I don’t think they understand that from a businessperspective they are actually hurting our business.
