Greetings and salutations friends….or should I say Wrrrrrror orrrhhh wraaah ruoooooarrrrr!
It’s funny how your universe can seem so normal, until one event throws you completely off your axis. I’ve seen some pretty weird websites in my time, but I had to really laugh when my buddy Mike sent me a link to Wookieepedia. Yep it’s a Wikipedia for Wookies.
You may be shaking your head in disbelief right about now…believe it sunshine!
I had to seriously compose myself when I saw this. Can you imagine the time and energy that went into making Wookieepedia a reality?Yep somewhere out there, some company has experiencing a surprising drop in productivity….the cause, Wiki for Wookies. INSANE!
It’s that time of the year again! It’s time to get infected with The Spier Public Arts Festival.
That’s right everybody, the thought provoking artistic acts of Infecting the City are back for their 3rd year of “edutainment”.
If you are in the Cape Town city centre its best to prepare yourself for a full on infection….sounds terrible, but it’s honestly an amazing experience.
For those of you who don’t know about Infecting the City 2010, here is the low down.
Infecting the City is a public art works festival that aims at bringing you interesting and sometimes bizarre act in order to evoke a certain meaning or to capture a specific element of our history. Each one of these stunning performances from local and international site-specific to various spots of the Cape Town central area.
Infecting the City 2010 starts on Saturday the 13th of February and runs through until Saturday 20th February.
The theme that will be running for 2010 is ‘Human Rite’, which is obviously a fine choice, especially for the rich history of the CBD area. Also with so much international attention on SA and quite a few international tourists still knocking around, this is undoubtedly the best time to launch this amazing festival which will hopefully open some resisting minds about our social evolution over the past few years.
