Just a few days ago I did a blog about the awesome new Cthulhu vinyl toys, ever since then I have become a little more obsessed by stalking vinyl toy pages and hunting for the coolest new designs out. Then I was hit by a bit of a curve ball to the side of the face….this came in the form of super funky plush toys.
One in particular that has stolen my heart was the cute Yeti Ninja from Shawnimals.

Shawnimals brings us the exclusively, never before attempted, never before believed possible…..Ninja of the Month!!!!

Trash talking

Trash Talk

Greetings friends.

As most of you will know our Battle of the Best theme competition is well under way and let me assure you there are some crazy good designs.
It has been so good to see so many past designers coming back trying for the title of BEST OF THE BEST!
Indeed this is a big competition where only past winners are allowed to submit their work.
However how has the trash talking been so far?

Well to tell you the truth as yet I have seen no cases of trash talking…CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?
Man I was so sure that the fur would start flying. Obviously in a standard theme competition there is such a wide variance in design power. You get the high flying artist super powers like TokyoGoGo and DustyRich, but then you also get new designers who are still finding their feet.
I suppose there is a certain level of trash talk in the normal competitions. However, there is always one twit who tries to rip off another artist’s design, by going too far…this we do not condone. If you wanna make a comment, make sure its constructive criticism.

As far as I’m concerned trash talking should only be allowed against designers who steal designs….those dudes don’t last very long on Springleap.com…we hunt you down and expose your design stealing ass, right quick!

Worst movies ever

worst movies ever

While having a browse through News24 I came across an article about the worst movies ever made.
Obviously everyone has their own opinions over really cruddy movie, but their list, especially the top spot made a whole lotta sense. Empire movie magazine is extremely well respected as a mega source of all things pertaining to films and of course actors. While their list made mostly sense, there were a few movie that I felt really shouldn’t be on it.

Ok so when Empire says worst movies ever, I’m assuming that their list is comprised of A-grade movies with a budget that is more than $1000 lol. Seriously I can think of a few movies just off the top of my head which are truly truuuly BAD!
Before we go any further though, let’s take a look at Empire’s worst movies ever list:

1. Batman and Robin (2007)
This movie is truly deserving of the worst movie ever top spot. Wow, this movie left me almost completely mentally scarred. The acting, the wardrobe, the dialogue, the…OMG is Arnold Schwarzenegger Mr. Freeze? ROFL. Yeah, this movie sucked on so many levels, it’s a miracle that anybody would touch the Batman franchise after such an epic implosion. Thank heavens for the new Batman movies….and of course thank you Bale for giving us a Batman that truly feels like the comic book.
PS: Clooney as Batman…worst idea EVER!

More...2. Battlefield Earth (2000)
Shooooo, I remember being really keen to see this movie and then feeling the ultimate pain of its disastrous performance. Travolta seriously brother, did you really think this one was going to take off? Oh wait, isn’t Travolta a scientology freak as well?? It would make sense for him to want to get involved in this L. Ron Hubbard dog show.

3. The Love Guru (2008)
Watched this movie for the first time a few nights ago….it really does suck I’m afraid.
I know it’s supposed to be a stupid simple comedy, but there are limits. I struggled through this one like eating a bowl full of fish eyes.

4. Raise the Titanic (1980)
I have never seen this movie…but I SOOOOO want to now LOL :D
Seriously just read this plot summary.

5. Epic Movie (2007)
Yeah, I despise these bloody multi-movie mish-mash comedies…they definitely don’t make them like they used to.

6. Heaven’s Gate (1980)
Tagline: What one loves about life are the things that fade.
Sounds like my old rocker t-shirts!
Never seen it…have no intention to :P

7. Sex Lives of the Potato Men (2004)
The what lives of the WHO now???
I had never heard of this movie, so I shot across to IMDb to check it out. I had to laugh at the movie tagline, “
The search for the lowest form of life on the planet is over”.
Strangely enough the user rating for this movie is 4.3/10, which is a heckova lot higher than I thought it would be, considering it’s on Empire’s worst movies ever list.

8. The Happening (2008)
This is a movie that I was surprised to see on the list. Yes it did receive a few negative comments, but I personally thought Shyamalan’s take on a world that fights back against its own destruction was a novel idea. Wahlberg was definitely off-par with his acting in this movie…so maybe that helped put this one on the list.

9. Highlander 2 (1991)
Ok, ok so Highlander 2 had nothing on the first movie. They set it in a dodgy future and covered the sky in…what was it? Pink puke I think the words were. Making the Immortals come from outer space was a story direction that really made no sense. It lost its base and became something intangible. The power from the first movie seemed to emanate from the world around them and tie the warriors together.
Overall I still actually enjoyed this movie and would never put it on my personal worst movie list. But I can understand where the hate comes from in this case. Sad….so very sad!
In fact I think Highlander 2 is one of the few movies where you will find alternate movie plots:
In the original the Highlanders came from space blah blah blah…but in an updated version General katana (the baddie) comes from the past to kill Connor. But how does that explain the flying jet- board things *groan*

10. The Room (2003)
Never heard of it…don’t care!

So there we have it, Empire’s worst movies ever list, yep, most are pretty horrible.
I think I’m going to have to come up with my top 10 worst flicks list as well now.

Duncs.
