Keep it tidy!

Submitting to Springleap.com’s competition is a bit like stepping into the sauna at the gym….best keep your shorts on. IE: filth does not belong in a family place.
I was thinking about the Yel-LOL-ow theme competition, considering how many people will try and slip through raunchy or otherwise inappropriate designs.
Its interesting how when we say “humour”…some designers think “smut”!
Springleap.com does have design restrictions.
Guys and girls, as above, keep it tidy!

First off, for those of you who don’t know, the Ye-LOL-ow theme competition is based around humour. You the artist, must take a yellow t-shirt and make something funny, revolving around the partnership of colour and giggles.
As with any of the Springleap.com competitions we hope that you will behave yourselves, obey design restrictions and come up with some genuinely funny designs, without making sailors blush.

It has happened quite often in the past, that we were forced to reject designs that were too obscene, or downright dirty. This of course is a pity, because some of the designs themselves were top notch.

Some people have argued that a few designs push the limit of what others would call a breach of the design restrictions. Perhaps the most well known is Spam goes old school by Deadhippo. The design is now sold out, except for 1 or 2 ladies sizes here at the Sea Point store.
But yeah, let’s just say we have had some raised eyebrows at this design. This design managed to be included because there is no swearing or “direct filth”. Spam goes old school is more insinuation than anything else…you must simply draw your own conclusions.

One other design that is well known for causing alarm is TokyoGoGo’s What would Godzilla do design. This design did not swear or insinuate anything sexy, but rather made a certain religious faction a tad uneasy.
While this design was a tad “hectic” I suppose, I feel that it needs to be take with a pinch of salt. People just need to relax mmmkay.

So, please do us all a favour and keep everything above board.
We love your designs and we wanna see lots of them, but we don’t want to have to send design back because they crashed against the iceberg that is, our design restrictions.

Duncs.
