Hiya friends.
Yes indeed, t-shirts have come a long way since the days of mine couture LOL.
The t-shirt has become a canvas of expression in our modern age. They tell the people around us what we love, what we hate and what we stand for. The t-shirts are one of the only truly universal garments worn around the world by pretty much every single culture.
You can’t beat a t-shirt
It took the humble t-shirt quite few years to emerge, as a true universal garment. First used in hot working conditions by miners and then eventually in the American navy. The t-shirt was the perfect garment to use whilst working in harsh climates, like submarines.
The t-shirts first giant leap into the commercial market, was when it was adopted as the “first choice” for younger boys to wear. T-shirts were inexpensive and easy to clean, which meant a hellova lot less admin for moms.
This of course was only the beginning. Since then the t-shirt has become a universal garment used not only by adult males, but also by females. It’s quite funny to think that the t-shirt is actually derived from old school underwear. LoL could you imagine a person from the past seeing how we dress today…might be a bit too hot for them to handle.
From sweaty workmans wear, to voice of the people. The t-shirt has become a key part of our lives. It takes up the honour of being on the same level as universal garments like jeans and sneakers. Some things just stand the test of time. The uncompromising power of the t-shirt is undoubtedly here to stay.
I’m a t-shirt fan through and through…how about you?
Duncs.
