I’m a sad little teenage vampire….pass me a tissue, while I glisten here in the sunlight like a Studio54 pole dancer.
Yep, it’s finally here. The second instalment in the Twilight franchise entitled New Moon, has finally hit the box office. I honestly was not a fan of the first movie, I thought it was weak and watered down…basically an insult to real vampires everywhere. So what does New Moon bring to the table, in order to elevate it above the swill of the first movie?
The simple answer to this seems to be…nothing.
First off, I have as yet NOT seen New Moon, so I cannot give you my own untainted opinion. However, from what I have been hearing online, its 130 minutes of painful teenage kaka. I’m interested to get the opinion of fans who have actually read the books. When I watched the first movie and told somebody who was a fan of the books, that I thought it was pretty terrible. They bounced back with the usual repugnant statement that “the books are sooooo much better”. Yeah well that goes without saying for 90% of movies based on books. I have been told by the same peeps that the books get better and better and much more exciting. Fair enough. But according to the reviews the movie has no base and its pretty much a rehashed love triangle story between a human, werewolf and vampire.
I will not watch New Moon at the cinema! That is money I would rather spend on Avatar.
New Moon picks up where the original Twilight movie left off. Bella and Edward separate when he realizes that she is not fit for his shady world. In his absence Bella supposedly goes mega nuts taking up extreme sports….like jumping off cliffs and riding Moto-X.
Argggg, I can sense the pain of this already. But the method in her madness is to call Edward back by putting herself in danger, thus making his vampire senses aware to her need…..okie dokie.
The third member of this love triangle is Jacob the Native American Indian teenager, who is a werewolf.
Bella starts to develop feelings towards Jacob and it becomes a bit of a “I choose you” scenario (no Pokemons included).
Yeah New Moon is definitely one for the girlies. Boys with their shirts off and sappy sadness induced pining of love. This is not for vampire fans who enjoyed 30 days of Night and the immortal Interview with a Vampire.
If vampire spread came in a can…this would be it….processed vamp mmmmmm, tastes like contemporary Hollywood. Fans of the books, enjoy.
Once again people who have read the books, please give me feedback about New Moon…I wanna know what was chopped changed…or just plain stuffed up.
Peace out and wear that garlic close.
Duncs.
