Hiya all you Infected Mushrooms
It seems that my mind has been completed taken over by psychedelic trance these days. Seriously, maybe it’s all these awesome psychedelic trance parties that are coming up like Organica and Mandala Project. One thing’s for sure the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down. It seems that the new Infected Mushroom album The Legend of the Black Shawarma was released a month ago, but I only managed to get my sticky fingers on it day before last.
I has surprised, perplexed and then stoked!
First things first, The Legend of the Black Shawarma is a very different album from the last (Vicious Delicious). While I’m sure some will agree and others not, I truly feel that this latest album was a full-on leap into the immersion of rock and psy-trance. Honestly these days I wouldn’t even consider Infected Mushroom a true psychedelic trance group. One of my buddies even commented that the change in sound may limit the number of psy-trance parties that they are usually invited to.
If you listen to the new album it is highly infused with electric guitar. In the previous few albums there was a slight electric guitar, but never to the degree that it is now.
Will this change lose them fans????
