It seems that we have seriously entered the season of outdoor music events. We just got rocked by Rocking the Daisies, The Mandala trance party will be coming up in November and now I hear Zimfest 2009 will also be coming around to get our feet moving.
While Zimfest may be in its infancy as a music festival, it still has the power to become a huge part of the South African music calendar. Zimfest is a series of music events that are found across the Antipodean world as well as over in the UK. It brings together not only Zimbabwean bands, but also bands that consider themselves friends of Zimbabwe.
In recent times Zimbabwe has undergone some major transitions, some of them good, others bad.
However, Zimfest 2009 aims to take all that negativity and channel it into an event that shows the lyrical beauty of the country and well as the energy of the countries that appreciate and sympathize with the Zimbabwean situation.
