Justin M. Maller- A master illustrator!

Legend illustration flavour by Justin M. Maller, a freelance illustrator and art director from Australia is definitely the master illustrator in my books! Venus in collaboration with HELLOVON is absolutely breathtaking, along with all his other rad illustrations, definitely gets my imagination flying high!

Flirting with this divine visual awesomeness, I thought I’d write about Mr. Maller. Check out his online portfolio here.

Cat String Theory

cat string theory

Hiya all you music lovers out there.

There seem that there has been an explosion of local music talent in SA over the past few years. However, very few of these new emerging bands are actually any good…well perhaps that is not phrased exactly right. They are good but unfortunately their sound gets old very quickly and they do little to separate themselves from their peers.
Also the average South African faces an uphill battle when it comes to making money. It’s near impossible for any music new band to be able to play gigs and still feed themselves.
There is one band that I really do appreciate. They work hard and do their best to get their lives on-track to superstardom. They are Cat String Theory….and they ROCK!

On top of being extremely professional and awesome musicians, they are a truly groovy bunch of dudes, who treat their fans like family.
Cat String Theory is well known by Springleap.com, because they love our stuff. We appreciated it super mega as they always wear our t-shirts to gigs. There is nothing cooler than seeing your t-shirt designs on-stage with a passionate bunch of musos giving it horns.

This Wednesday Cat String Theory will be playing in a sort of “Battle of the bands” at R.O.A.R, against several other awesome upcoming bands.
Do yourself a favour and pull in for this event. I have no doubts that it will open your eyes to a whole new world of South African music.
If you already know Cat String Theory, get your butts down there and show them some serious support.

You can find R.O.A.R (above Gandalfs), on Lower main Road, Observatory, Cape Town.
The entrance fee is a smile worthy R20.
The drinks are also very reasonable ;)

internet communities

springleap internet communities

Hi there everyone.

The internet is a glorious thing…well minus the cyber crimes and array of other dodgy things people can get into. However, for the most part the internet is the marvel of our age. It’s all about near limitless information and insights on most subjects…at your finger tips. The internet has done for business what the jet engine did for travel.
Perhaps one of the most interesting developments which emerged with the internet is what we call “internet communities”. It’s amazing what a group of people can accomplish when they put their heads together.
Springleap.com is no different and opens gateways into avenues other than just purely art/design.

Springleap.com as we well know offers a unique opportunity for people in the design industry and those seeking to break into the design world, a chance to show the world, through the internet, what they are capable of. In this regard Springleap.com is indispensable as a tool for designers.
There is another facet of Springleap.com that shows our own design communities focus is evolving into many separate spheres. This is no more evident than with our “Peeps” page, where Springleap.com members have the power to not only interact with the rest of the community in a socially friendly manner, but to also pose questions and to ask for help.

Yesterday a member called SugarTwizz told the Springleap.com design community that he would be opening his own funky clothing store, that sells such brands as Ice Cream, Bathing Ape (Bape) and Billionaires Boy Club.
His question to us: If you could create a clothing line with a similar name, what would it be?
Hmmm, very interesting stuff.

So what do you think can you as our eSquared/Springleap.com internet community work together to think of some funky names for SugarTwizz’ new shop?
I’m busy pondering some nice names myself. I really think it would be cool if you could come up with some names and bounce across to his Peeps Springleap.com posting and leave some ideas.
Otherwise write the brand name here and I will write it up for ya, no problemo.
