The Age of The Cyborg

We are entering  the age of the Cyborg, where machine and man become  ever more seamlessly intertwined. Man has created a new vital organ which interact s and with reality creating new mindscapes of probable parallel realities and networks. Yet man has been obsessed with the cybernetic epitaph for quite some time now, from Frankenstein, to Cylons to the cult classic Ghost in the Shell.

Casual Day crew competition

Casual Day Office

Ok everybody…act casual!

As most of you will know Casual Day has just passed us by. For us at Springleap.com it was an extra special day, because of our awesome competition that we ran in association with P.A.S.T (People against suits and ties).
Needless to say it was a HUGE success and our winning design by TokyoGoGo looks splendiferous.
The guys at the Springleap.com HQ went the extra mile and got dressed up in their most random fashion possible to support the Casual Day cause.
Its the Casual Day crew competition.

If you think about it, every day is Casual Day when it comes to the Springleap.com crew…we sell friggin t-shirts for Pete’s sake.
So how can we become even more casual? Well with a hint of insanity of course.
Eric told the crew to come in dressed in the most outrageous styles possible, we then posted the pics on the Springleap.com site and got the public to vote on their favourite outfit.

The winning Springleap.com crew member will win a FREE t-shirt, woop woop!

You have to scope out these hilarious pics ROFL. I’m really stuck on who I think is the best, because they are all super crazy. Please help us out and go across to cast a vote on our crew competition, you have until the end of the day to do so.

GOGO Casual Day…GOGO Springleap team!
Nicely done peeps, you all look splendid.

Duncs.

Hmmm next time I should defintely get involved in the Casual Day crew competition….it will be spandex…ALL SPANDEX

Local Color artistic movie

Local Color

Good morning everybody.

It’s not very often I watch overly dramatic movies. In fact you might say that I’m a little obsessed when it comes to movies that are packed with action. However every now and then, I’m persuaded by a friend or family member to watch a movie that really caught their imagination.
Yesterday I watched an artistic movie called Local Color by writer/director George Gallo. This movie about appreciation of art and life simply blew me away.

Local Color is a semi-autobiographical account of George Gallo’s life. The movie itself centres around a young man trying to find his way in the world of art.
The year is 1974 and young John Talia (Trevor Morgan) lives in a home where his artistic nature is frowned upon, especially by his homophobic father, who fears that his sons painting means he is gay. John discovers that a master Russian painter who he has idolized for years lives close by and he becomes intent on making him take him on as a student. This however is easier said than done.
The Russian painter Nicoli Seroff (Armin Mueller-Stahl) is an eccentric recluse who hates humanity and is scarred by his own terrible past. We begin to wonder what kind of relationship these two unlikely people could share.
