Just when you thought it was safe to turn on the radio…prepare yourself for the song of this coming summer.
Please understand that even when this song was in its original form as the mega hit Poker face from LADY GAGA, I still didn’t like it LOL.
The Pap and Vleis song is here and making a tsunami like impact on radio listeners around the country.
This is a modern dance tune spiced with Bokke spirit and a generous helping of Afrikaans madness thrown in for extra measure.
The Pap and Vleis song, as I have already mentioned, is a rendition of the well known floor-filler song Poker Face which LADY GAGA has subjected us to for months now. I think I even danced to it at some wedding in George…the horror.
My cousin actually sent me the link yesterday and I knew that it was something I’d have to share with the rest of you. Even though the song is horrifically suggestive and laced with a ton of sexual innuendo, it is still unbelievably funny.
Ok so with a title like Pap and Vleis you must realise that all the lyrics are in Afrikaans, however even for a Durban boy like me, whose command of the Afrikaans language is sketchy at best, it’s pretty easy to understand. Luckily for the 20% I did not understand my girlfriend who herself is Afrikaans did the translation.
