The King of Pop, Michael Jackson has died at the young age of 50.
What an end of an era! The last time I was so surprised when a famous star passed away was when Diana died in that terrible car accident.
I know everybody had their own particular opinion about Michael Jackson, quite a few of those opinions being fiercely negative. However I think at a time like this he should be remembered for the good things rather than the bad.
Michael Jackson was born into this world on August 29th 1958. Little did his parents know then that Michael would become one of the most celebrated music icons of our time. Michael Jackson is arguably the greatest pop dancer of all time. How many of you have tried to pull off some of his classic dance moves at one time or another? The answer is probably every single one of us.
I personally remember when I was in std.5 (I think), I lost in a dance competition to some younger dude who could pull off an array of Michael Jackson moves…I cursed him then, but after that I even tried to learn some of his patented dance moves HAHA…let’s just say I’m not quite as adept as the legend.
Springleap.com sure has been on the move lately. Our own home grown South Africant-shirt competition has really grown from strength to strength and word of our amazing designs seems to have spread across the entire globe, in a relatively short amount of time.
I was really happy to hear that one of our very famous Springleap.com designs had been featured on the hideyourarms.com list of the top robot inspired designs online.
That awesome t-shirt design, which we all know and love, comes from Khutaza with his Robot Gorilla Suit design.
What word can I use to sum up Khutaza’s awesome design? Hmmmm perhaps EPIC is the word I’m looking for. Hideyourarms is a well known blog that simply chats about our favourite things, that being hoodies and t-shirts of course.
It really makes me proud to see our Robot Gorilla Suit design amongst these other extremely popular robot inspired t-shirt design. Springleap.com stands with such ahead-thinking t-shirt guru’s as Design by Humans and Threadless.
Some really exciting news! Springleap.com is being featured in the July issue of The O Mag, big woops for that! I am so incredibly proud of the brand and for all the support we have been getting!
Seems like everyone has jumped on the band wagon of ‘sustainable development’ or ‘sustainable this and that.’ This I can assure you is music to my ears. The latest addition to the growing list is self sustaining buildings. That’s right your house will, in the near future, be alive and it’s your duty as home owner to now keep this ‘pet’ of yours alive. Fair trade if it keeps you warm and dry, I’d say.
Most eco friendly buildings at the moment are ideas and designs in the pipeline with (as far as I know of) no actual high rise building or any buildings for that matter actually constructed. Sure there are a few houses where home owners have added on this and that for energy requirement that are eco friendly and reduce carbon emissions but nothing that completely lives off itself.Continue reading ‘Sustainable Design’
