Hey guys

South Park, still and will, I’m sure captivate a demographic of sick and twisted folk who enjoy revelling in those awkward, cringing social bloopers that affect us all. Saying that I have to say I LOVE South Park and think Matt Stone and Tray Parker deserve a little more than just the average Emmy. I’m thinking along the lines of a Noble Prize for conglomerated Cultural introspection? Saying that I’ll quickly move on before I really let loose on the bs.

South Park Fashion I’m sure is one of the subtle undertows that Matt and Trey use to convey meaning and understanding of culture to the average Joe. The focus of this blog is the fashion sense or lack thereof pertaining to our loveable characters Kyle, Eric, Stan and Kenny. Its’ all a matter of opinion, man!! Granted, most of the time our animated friends wear exactly the same gear but there is the odd encounter with a sophisticated and well mannered Eric Cartman or a dark and attitude laced ‘punkie’  Butters. The boys stay in South Park, a town that’s supposed to be modelled on a Colorado town in the late 1800’s, and gets rather chilli so they’re warmly dressed in their winter woollies pretty much all the time. Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson!

It seems that this weekend we were heavily bombarded by tributes to the King of Pop and his mysterious demise.
I hope that everybody is not sick of hearing about the man and all the differing theories on his death and more importantly, his life.
There is however one topic I’d like to touch on about Michael Jackson which I’m sure most of you will agree on…his outlandish fashion sense.

Michael Jackson fashion has most certainly changed the way we view fashion extremes.
When he first came onto the scenes he was cruising around in bell bottoms and frilly shirts…wow, do you remember the gear he used to wear, it makes his more “well known” fashion trends seem like year 3000 hyper-couture LOL.
However as his popularity grew and he branched away from his family his fashion style evolved at a rapid rate.
What was it that made him wear such outrageous fashion styles?
Was it merely a product of the decadent 80’s, was it an attempt to break the boundaries of popular fashion…or was it all art, purely?
