Well what can I say, I’m absolutely shocked.
The King of Pop, Michael Jackson has died at the young age of 50.
What an end of an era! The last time I was so surprised when a famous star passed away was when Diana died in that terrible car accident.
I know everybody had their own particular opinion about Michael Jackson, quite a few of those opinions being fiercely negative. However I think at a time like this he should be remembered for the good things rather than the bad.
Michael Jackson was born into this world on August 29th 1958. Little did his parents know then that Michael would become one of the most celebrated music icons of our time. Michael Jackson is arguably the greatest pop dancer of all time. How many of you have tried to pull off some of his classic dance moves at one time or another? The answer is probably every single one of us.
I personally remember when I was in std.5 (I think), I lost in a dance competition to some younger dude who could pull off an array of Michael Jackson moves…I cursed him then, but after that I even tried to learn some of his patented dance moves HAHA…let’s just say I’m not quite as adept as the legend.
What about Michael Jackson’s music, I mean his songs are so famous that they will be used in movies and other media until the end of time. My absolute favourite Michael Jackson song is Thriller, I totally digged the undead/werewolf music video when I was a kid.
One thing is for sure, he may be gone, but his music will live on forever. Michael Jackson’s music stands as a symbol of our life and times. In the future when our children are learning about 80’s and 90’s culture, I have no doubt that under music it will have a list of names with Michael Jackson at the very top.
Unfortunately Michael Jackson left this world with a particularly tarnished name. He has had various accusations of pedophilia from children saying that the star abused them. He has been in court more times than OJ Simpson, which is one of the reasons that when he passed on he was heavily in debt…around $400 Million I believe.
It’s astounding how far this legend of our times has fallen from the lofty heights of his once super super duper stardom.
It seemed that he had disappeared from the world, shunning the lime light and hiding away from the mockery and harsh criticisms. On the eve of a world-wide comeback, Michael Jackson succumbed to some kind of cardiac arrest whilst at his home in Bel Air. By the time he reached the hospital, which was less than 10 minutes away, he was unresponsive and time of death was called at 2:26pm.
I’m sure that there will be numerous blogs and sites singing his praises in the next few weeks. Hopefully the hate mongers will wait just a little while before they lay into Michael.
We have just lost one of the single most ground breaking entertainers of our time…who will ever be able to step into the shoes of such a powerful man.
I don’t care about the allegations, I don’t care about the mistakes he has made…he’s human after all. Right now all I care about is singing the praises of a man who changed the way I feel about music and who has gotten me up and dancing more times than will ever be possible to count.
Farewell Michael.

Wonderful post—I completely agree…he will be very missed. All those lawsuits were despicable attempts to steal his money and ruin his name and Michael never deserved it. Watch any one interview with him and you will see what a gentle and kind (not to mention very astute) human being he was. I’ll just keep on playing the hits, as I always have, and keep his memory alive.
I fully agree… Love him or hate him, he was absolutely brilliant. From Dancing, Singing, Song-Writing to Music-Video’s there wasn’t anything he didn’t do exceptionally well. I am so sad, I can’t stop watching CNN and Sky-News. He is one of those artists (John Lennon, Elvis Presley) that only come along once. It is so sad that he made so many wrong turns and always felt so victimised because I do not think he had any idea of how loved (worldwide) he was and how many people’s lives he touched/changed. R.I.P. MJ
It is really Sad the people still idolize this Freak. I mean when the kid that layed charges against him can discribe to the court what the blotches on his penis looks like, and when Mike himself makes the statement “what is more loving than sharing your be with a child” as far as I am concerned he was guilty from that second forward and no matter how tallented he was his sickness way over trumped his tallents and he should have been sent to jail for the rest of his life. Rot in hell you sick bastard ! even his sister came out publicly and dishoned him for his sick ways on cam.
Its even more sad when people will keep glamorizing him now he is dead.. to hell with him put his broke alledged child molesting a$$ in a dicarded cardboard box and toss him in a pot hole fill over it.
Would you feel the same way if you neighbour was an possible child molester ? would you still glamorize him when he died or would you celibrate a bit in you head that the worlds children just got that much safer. Get a life people just because he is a celiberity does not mean he deserves any better.
To anyone with kids if you feel sorry for this sick bastard at all you need your head examined !
R.I.P to Wacko Jacko. He was truly an Icon.I think dude was ready to die cz he spent more than he gets.He looked like a vampire on his last dayz.Brotha had a rest cz his health was messed up.N way its sad that hes gone
