Our winning designer DeeDee Kid really pulled out all the stops on this styling winning design.
If you are a fan of crazy unique cartoon characters with a generous sprinkling of funk, then you are going to do cartwheels for this amazing design entitled Here Comes Trouble.
Whats the first thing that comes to mind when I think of DeeDee Kid’s Here Comes Trouble?
Hmmm, well I think this reminds me of early morning cartoons from the 80’s…they have a certain style that is unmistakable.
Actually Alex summed it up nicely: it reminded him of the Mr. Men characters.
You know those cute little quirky characters like Mr. Bump or Mr. Clumsy.
I used to love them when I was al little dude. Recently these characters have had an international rebirth and even here in South Africa stores have been collectively bombarding our fashion with these types of characters. The 2 shops at the top of the Mr. Men list are Mr. P and JayJays.
DeeDee Kid’s characters may resemble Mr. Men, however it has its own energy and imagination that sets it apart.
Not to mention I very much doubt that any of the Mr. Men characters would be found licking each other hahaha…Here Comes Trouble indeed.
I think that we should call the leading character in this design Mr. Trouble.
Here Comes Trouble also has a host of other characters that are called his RAW Disco gang.
It seems that this super fly funky basketball player even has his own entourage…pretty popular hey!
Disco elements are abound in DeeDee Kid’s Here Comes Trouble.
The bright colours coupled with simplistic but memorable characters make for a fantastic recipe.
There are so many pieces to this design that just make it better than your average cartoon piece.
For instance, I love his girlfriends boots…simple, but they make you feel as if you know the type of girl she is.
Also take a look at the basketball players piercing….that is a piercing right? LOL.
All I can say is WELL DONE to DeeDee Kid who hails all the way from Germany. I’m sure you celebrated the weekend in a BIG way when you heard the news. Many steinkrug I’m sure.

We are really looking forward to the next submission by DeeDee Kid, it will be interesting to see what direction his design style will go. I am definitely going to put a pre-order down on this design. Not that it implies anything about my own inherent nature….I am NOT trouble. Well not all the time anyway.
