Fedisa student Tozama

Daniel

Whenever you walk into our store you are 100% sure of what to expect right?!
WRONG!

In one such case a few days ago a young man named Daniel walked into the store and was, of course, blown away by the sheer amount of funky t-shirts we have on our racks.
He lingered around for quite some time checking out designs and trying a few out, until a girl walked in with a suit slung over her shoulder…this is where Daniel’s Springleap.com visit took a different turn ;)

The girl in question is a 3rd year fashion design student from FEDISA named Tozama, who was desperately looking for a model to try out one of her unique garments for her end of year portfolio.
When she asked me to try it on I was, of course being me, really nervous….LOL you can’t spring stuff like this on me because I run for the hills…I get way to embarrassed :P

Luckily Daniel was still looking around so I quickly ensnared him in the modelling shoot, haha poor guy got sucked right in and I breathed a sigh of relief as I avoided the lens….oh and then of course grabbed my camera and made sure I had some blog material.
As you can see from the photos it’s a very funky black and white number that could easily be used as a design for a futuristic theatre production…Phantom of the Opera 3000 perhaps
J

I have to say Tozama was lucky to have Daniel in store at that very moment because he was already wearing a smart shirt/pants and proper shoes…I would have looked shocking in my brightly coloured t-shirt, jeans and Etnies.
Thank goodness for small miracles, am I right!?

Now the burning question that has been on my mind after the spontaneous fashion show:
is ‘this’ Tozama, the very same FEDISA student named Tozama Dyantji Tozamathat showed her designs at Durban MTN Fashion Week last year.
If it is then I was in the presence of a fashion designer that may very well shape the South African fashion industry in the years to come.

Well at any rate, thanks to Daniel for being the stand in model, you did a much better job than I ever could and much luck to Tozama for her 3rd year presentation.

Duncs.

PS: would you like to know more about the highly recognised fashion school that Tozama goes to?

    Hey Duncan

    Great blog.

Yes, this is indeed the very same Tozama Dyantji that showed at Durban MTN Fashion Week. She graduated very successfully from FEDISA last year.

Perhaps you want to include the link to the FEDISA website, which is www.fedisa.co.za.

All the best and great t-shirts by the way.

    Allen
