Springleap.com long sleeve and hoodies

Hello and greetings from a rather chilly Mother City.

Winter has arrived down here in Cape Town and already the jackets and scarves are out in full force.
The best thing you honestly can do to battle the cold is armour up in lots of clothing.
As you already know we at Springleap.com are pretty much specialists in t-shirts, so yeah not an enormous winter range thus far.
However plans are on the table to try and organise some long sleeve shirts and perhaps some hoodies for the winter season.

This is of course not 100% confirmed, but there is a strong possibility that we will get this done in time for the chilly season.
Its not as easy as you might think to simply slap a design onto a long sleeve shirt or a hoodie for that matter, we will need to find suitable blanks and in the case of the hoodies source some really lekker material which I believe is ultra difficult to get hold of here in South Africa…and we want to continue to only use African material….none of this importing from Asian business which takes money away from local manufacturers.

Iron Maiden Cover Art

Morning all

Seeing as I started on Iron Maiden the other day, think I’ll stick with them on this blog and focus more on the artwork.

A lot of the cover art for Iron Maiden was done by a chap by the name of Derek Riggs, an Englishman who actually created the infamous maiden character Eddie. Riggs claims the character was based on a previous character, Electric Mathew’s, from one of his paintings being a symbol of the overly offensive punk scene of the 1980’s. The Iron Maiden crew asked him to add a bit of hair to the original and viola, Eddie was born.
