Anybody fancy a gig with beautiful surroundings?
For those of you who are out of the know, Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town has an amazing line up of popular South African bands who pull in on Sundays to blow the crowds away with their amazing talent.
Just a few weeks ago the Springleap.com team was there to enjoy The Rudimentals, who supposedly put on one heck of a show.
This weekend we have another local band that have really started to take off in local circles, and have some truly jaw dropping tunes to shoot your way…they are aKING.
aKing has a sort of alternative/rock/western sound to it and for the most part tries to impart a very positive outlook on the world, whilst focussing on the daily lives of those living in the South African suburbs.
Dutch courage is the title of their debut album and was released last year in February, it was a great success and the band got some serious play time on various radio stations such as 5FM and of course college stations as well.
I have to say I’m pretty impressed with this aKING and wish them the best of luck out there in the music industry…we all know how cut throat it can be.
