springleap tshirt shop

We’ve renamed the eSquared shop in Sea Point to the “springleap shop”, so we had a big decision to make. Do we start a new blog for the springleap shop, or do we rather say to ourselves, that the eSquared blog is already set up, and rather leave the domain, but change the name to the “springleap shop blog”.

So that’s what we did. The URL is still eSquaredFashion but this blog is now called the springleap shop blog.

Hopefully that’s not TOO confusing.

Suns heat

Dave hiding

Hi there everybody.

Ah yes how the summer has its ups and downs.
Just a week ago we were complaining about the sudden cold snap sneak attack from a vindictive winter.
However I have already heard a few people complaining about the glorious hot weather we have been having…and in some cases it’s for good reason.

David has gotten quite a bit done with the second design (Rocket Turtle) on the Sea Point wall, but at a certain time of the day he has to take the full brunt of the sun’s rays….and for an extended period of time.
Dave literally cooks out there.
He tried everything to stay out of the blasting suns heat….even trying to hide behind the ATM sign we have outside the store, but that could only help him so much.

No. 5 Jackson Pollock

no.5

Ello ello, greetings greetings.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…indeed art can be seen in the same way, opinion is what measures the worth of anyone or anything.

Art in general is such a huge and varied experience that sticking a price tag on any given piece is near impossible.
Valuing an artwork based on age and the artists already rooted popularity are the most obvious ways of determining a piece…however do we give an artwork more credit than it’s worth.

One popular poke we as “normal” men on the street who seldom buy expensive artworks is that abstract artwork is absolute rubbish that anybody can achieve.
Personally I am not a fan of abstract artwork, I find that understanding the piece and truly understanding the latent emotion is pretty much unreachable…that is besides the artist who actually put it together.
Whenever I hear an “expert” talking about something abstract I always seem to frown because I wonder if they actually know whats going on, or if they are just spouting nonsense.

Video Games Rock Complete

video games rock finito

Ello ello, greetings greetings.

For those of you who don’t know the first design outside the store is finished.
It has been a long hard road, but its complete and looking awesome.
Video Games Rock by DustyRich has taken on a new form in the medium of acrylic paint.

This is the first of 4 designs that should be going along the bottom of the wall…the gate also needs to get a new lick of green Springleap green done to it.
You will notice that there are few modifications to our version, but it still turned out even better than expected.
In all honesty I was worried that the super bumpy wall would destroy the fine lines of the designs, but luckily the way it has been painted has made the images really spring out at you.
