Springleap Sea Point Store Mural

Sea Point Store Mural

Greetings one and all.

Yesterday I mentioned that we have a new crew member for eSquared/Springleap called David and that he was doing some awesome concepts sketches for the outside of the store in Sea Point.
I took a snap shot of his design and thought today I’d stick it up for you all to see….so what do you think?

Quite a while back our store sign for eSquared got mauled by some serious Sea Point wind and we decided instead of replacing it with the same old design we would rather do something different.
We ran through a ton of different ideas ranging from hanging fabric banners (errr no) to graffiti.
After all was said and done, the graffiti idea is what worked best with us…we thought it would look young, funky and fresh.
We spoke to quite a few artists and got some ideas, we then had to wait for the building owners to “ok” the idea before we went ahead with it….which took frigging forever dude.
Luckily they said it was cool to go ahead, as long as we sent them an idea of what the design was going to look like, that where David stepped in and lent us his design power.

Poor David, he must have felt like a ping-pong ball being smacked back and forth across a table.
The problem is we all had such a wide variety of ideas that they often clashed…we all know what we like and are adamant that our idea is best hahaha.
However we reached a consensus of what points we liked the most and ran with those.
Basically the design had to scream t-shirt, whilst also letting people know about the brand.
It was important that the design ended up looking big bright and beautiful…so what we did was,
decided on a few of the winning Springleap designs and paint them as cleanly onto the wall as possible, while interspersing them with Springleap green t-shirt shapes and making sure that the logo was super visible and told people about ourselves.

All in all I think the design is a great amalgamation of ideas that we all bounced off each other.
Well done to David our human ping-pong ball for all his efforts.
Fingers crossed that there are no more big changes.
We will keep you all informed as to the progress of the wall design.

Love & peace for the weekend ahead, drive safe and be kind to Mother Earth.

Duncs.
