Hi there gang.

So who’s a fan of Coldplay? I have to say that I really enjoy their sound and was really blown away by X&Y and have been waiting in anticipation for their latest album.
Well looks like the waiting is over, their new release of Viva La Vida is set to come out on the 16–17 of June. Release dates may vary depending on where you live, obviously if you live in the UK and sleep outside the HMV you will have a copy on the day, but we may get it a week or two later here in SA. Will probably sit in customs for a week while lost paperwork is reprinted LOL.

It also seems that Coldplay are going out of their way to promote the new album. Firstly they will be giving away a free download of “Violet Hill” (available from 12:15 BST on 29 April for one week only down at the band’s site), which is a track off the new album and also a super cool 7-inch vinyl version in association with NME on the 7th of May.
That’s damn cool, I’d love to get my hands on that vinyl…it will probably end up a collectible on eBay in a matter of days.

I believe there will also be two totally free gigs for the release, one at the Brixton Academy in London and the other in Madison Square Gardens in New York…..so unless you are one of our international readers, I suppose you will have to jump on a plane…or go without.
Both of these events are sure to kick mega bum. I’m so frigging jealous.

Coldplay are probably the only “chilled band” I listen to, I also consider them mainstream which is surprising for me, because I hate sheep music. But in all honesty they are extremely talented and have a great personality, I always dig watching their interviews because they are all so down to earth and “normal”.

Viva la Vida is going to be crazy awesome, it can’t get here soon enough.
Word is that the new album from Coldplay is going to have a very Hispanic sound, this is supposedly after extensive recording work in Spain and a tour of Latin America.
