Parreira Quits SA Team

parrieraquits

Hi there sports fans.

Last week I did a blog about our really interesting local soccer and how the underdogs were taking on the big names. Well I was getting really stoked as I thought lots of new talent would be pumping our World Cup 2010 campaign.
Unfortunately we have received a massive blow to our defensive…we seem to have lost our coach, thats right
Carlos Alberto Parreira the Brazillian super coach has packed his bag and is heading home.
Great, that’s all we need…sheesh

Now there is a huge void that has to be filled and in record time, our team may have shown some power against Paraguay where we beat them 3-0, but I don’t think that’s quite enough to get excited about just yet.
Parreira’s game plan was to bring up the young blood during The African Cup of Nations, where we were smashed at the first obstacle, maybe not such a good idea.

Ronin Two Cranes

2cranes

Greetings friends.

Todays Tshirt of the Day is another eSquared classic that has done very well, Two Cranes by Ronin is a beautiful design that is not only very Japanese but also natural in its style.
Let’s have a look.

Two Cranes is a supremely Oriental design, no doubts there. Ronin being a Japanese company uses many facets of their culture in their work. I always love Japanese artwork as it regularly comprises of natural splendour as well as stylized lines. The Japanese in general are grounded when it comes to nature, that is besides their whaling laws, which are just shocking…the problem with that is when it not only for scientific research but a millennia old tradition, it’s not going to just fall away instantlypoor whales L

Cranes hold a very special place throughout Asian traditions. The Japanese at one stage protected cranes and peasants were encouraged to feed them, after the fall of the feudal system during the Meiji era those laws were lost and just recently the birds have been saved from near extinction. The Ainu of northern Japan also do a traditional dance involving movements of the crane (crane dance).
But it’s not just the Japanese, the Chinese see the crane as a symbol of longevity and the Vietnamese see the cranes as integral in their culture.
These birds have definitely made a huge impact on the cultures of our world.

They are beautiful graceful creatures, with some pretty outrageous courting dances…they really give it horns when they try and impress the ladies.
These birds are endangered all over the world, or at least threatened, let’s all see what we can do to help them survive. Wear a Ronin Two Cranes shirt to show your admiration for these wonderful creatures.

Duncs.
