Listening: Perspective

badlistener

Well hello there.

Selective memory is a strange and funny thing isn’t it?
You know, like when your mom will tell you to do a million things around the house, but the only thing you remember is that there’s fifty bucks on your shelf for the party that night.

Yep we are all guilty in one way or another.
The thing is that it’s very difficult to be a good listener, it takes practice and effort of note.

They would tell me about the fishing trips on Kariba, which is undoubtedly one of the world’s best fishing spots and most certainly “the” place for tiger fishing in Africa.
How about Victoria Falls, it’s probably the biggest waterfall in the world (by some measurements) and home to an amazingly diverse array of animals and birds.
My parents say that it’s one of the most beautiful sights they have ever seen and would love to show it to me.
As soon as its stable over there, which granted may not be for a few years to come, we will have a family reunion the likes of which Kariba has never seen, “house boat super blast”.
