Hey there all you wonderful people.
I’m not sure if you guys have been watching the Zimbabwean election, but dude it’s been one crazy affair.
I’ve been checking News24 all day trying to find out who the winner is.
Obviously there’s a fair portion of the world that wants Mugabe out of office…I have to agree, he’s just plain crackers.
I’m a first generation South African who’s parents both came from Zim, so there’s still a close connection with the country…I still have family there too.
The lowdown: It’s Mugabe (Zanu-PF) vs Tsvangirai (MDC) in a “supposed” neck and neck battle to the finish in the 2008 presidential election.
Tsvangirai is the hope of millions of Zimbabweans who’s country has been falling deeper and deeper into a state of emergency with Robert Mugabe at the helm.
I’m sure we are all fully aware of the problem of Zimbabweans flocking to SA for work and food…basically a better way of life. Well if the MDC wins it will hopefully reverse that flow and they will have something worth living for in Zim. Come on MDC you can do it.
Word from News24 was that Mugabe has lost according to the MDC’s personal vote tally, but Z-PF said that they should not have released a statement like that so soon and that they should wait for an official word.
Basically Z-PF has waited too long to release the results, which makes the election look like a farce.
Let’s all give a silent prayer for a positive political change in Zimbabwe, send them as much positive chi as possible everybody.
God help them.
