So Morty how’s it going.
It iz not this Morty….it is Meurte….for Death. (old line from a spy movie)
So it’s “Belt of the Day” again and you just have to scope out this wicked buckle design.
You have to love this funky little South American masterpiece.
Meurte. As I’ve just shown from the movie caption, means death, or closer to the actual persona of Death, which in Mexico is a female figure known as Santa Muerte, which doesn’t mean Santa Clause is actually Death in disguise, although it may explain quite a few things
Santa Muerte will supposedly accept offerings to give her followers luck, protection or to improve their love lives.
There are even public shrines to this “almost god” in Mexico, her shrines are often covered with red crosses and offerings, such as cigars, roses and bottles of tequila…that’s one interesting set of offerings, sounds like a party god. Something like Baccus if my memory serves correctly.
The Mexicans also have the festival for the dead where massive elaborately designed skeletons are led through the towns in a parade….super cool, I’ve always wanted to see it for myself. The skulls on the belt are very similar and also have a correlation to the “Mexican Wrestling” community.
All I know is that this double skull Muerte buckle is “beyond the grave”.
My name is written all over one of these puppies….shweeeeet.
Duncs.
