Bowing to apologize Big time in Japan - Shazai

Bowing is BIG in Japan – hell, when you think of Japanese people, how can you NOT think of bowing? The Japanese people INVENTED bowing - it’s a Japanese tradition!

I used to work for a Japanese company once and when I met my Japanese superiors I was faced with a bit of a conundrum : I am HUGE into RESPECT and I really enjoy respecting people’s cultures. In the end my Dutch counterparts told me rather not to bow at all, as the process of bowing is very complicated and one needs to know how deep to bow in relation to the situation and to the superiority of the person before whom one is bowing.
