KungFu Master Geisha Design

geisha

Hello there everybody.

Japanese culture is without doubt one of my most beautiful and captivating I’ve ever known. Their art, dance, music…even food is an experience in itself and is always prepared and performed in an absolutely flawless manner.
That’s one of the things I LOVE about the Japanese, they are fully committed to everything they do….especially in regards to traditional matters and anything relating to their unique culture.
This brings us to our very beautiful design for the Tshirt of the Day from KungFu Master: Geisha.

Whats a geisha? Well in all honesty the idea of a geisha has been warped way out of proportion in these modern days. When I speak to some of my more “unJapanesed” friends they think geisha girls are nothing more than glorified prostitutes.
Look, there are horror stories of young girls being put into an almost slave like existence as a geisha working to pay off their parents gambling debts. Things like this did happen and some geishas were exposed to a brothel type lifestyle. These are NOT “real” geisha…a geisha is trained from a young age to be a artist, a master of dance, of singing, musical instruments, calligraphy, flower arrangement and even the art of conversation. Usually if a geisha ended up with a man it would be her sponsor (danna) who provided for just about everything she did, including lavish adornments…many of these danna were also already married. However, Japanese woman never saw geisha as a threat as their roles in society were so far apart.

The beauty of a geisha is timeless and their grace legendary, our Tshirt of the Day most definitely gives us a sneak peek into the softer world of the geisha and should hopefully leave you with a more favourable lasting impression than the picture cinema and most of the western world has painted in the past.

This is a stunning design from Kungfu Master.
What do you guys think of Geisha?
