So 13 years have passed since I hit the waves - and now I am TOTALLY ready and rearing to GO GOGO!!!
Just over 1 week ago I started surfing again, and all I can say is : I AM HOOKED!
I watched “Surf’’s Up” recently and got the bug! Ironically so did all my buddies and now most of us have boards and in the water.
In case you haven’t seen “Surf’s Up”, go see it - it’s one of the best and most inspirational animated features I have seen in ages. It has some great messages to everyone about just letting go and following your heart.
“Surf’s Up” will definitely appeal to both adults and kiddies alike. It’s one of those movies that really crosses the age gaps with effortless leaps and bounds. On a totally other note : the rendering is AMAZING.
Without a doubt my personal fave is “Chicken Joe” - the coolest dude by far.
One of the coolest things about “Surf’s Up” is how close it is to “The Big Lebowski” - a personal favourite - they even used Jeff “The Dude” Bridges for one of the key roles. Anyone who has seen “The Big Lebowski” and loved it will definitely love “Surf’s Up”.
So from now on I am going to bring you my special “Surf’s Up” update on my surfing adventures right here at www.esquaredfashion.co.za entitled: Eran “Chicken Joe” Surf Report.
Tshirt of the Day time once again and this time we are hitting itlocal style….with a flair onlySouth Africansknow how to achieve. Local brand Fifteesbrings you a design which is retro yet modern and the result…a friggingcool tshirt design. I give you,Hendrix.
This design from Fiftees totally jumps right out at you and is without a doubt one of the slickest local designsI’ve seen in the store. I really enjoy theretro vibe of the design, the wavy effect of theafroonJimi(or a guy that looks just like Jimi)is mega effective and gives it a really unique look. Jimi Hendrixis an absolute icon in the rock world…his guitar techniques revolutionized how we play guitarand he has been instrumental (very punny I know)in the evolution of rock music….his achievements are beyond the power of normal men….which is why some believed that hesold his soul to the devilin order to gain the best guitar skills on the face of the Earth…the downside? You die at a very young age…which is exactly what happened to Mr. Hendrix.
Fifteeschoice of using Jimi was well based and I think they realise just how popular his image is, even all these years after his death….Jimi is most definitely on my Top 10 List of Dead people To Meet……hes up there with Bruce Lee, Achilles (if he existed at all), Gandhi and Freddie Mercury.
What a cool shirt and what an awesome style, one of my new favourites…..go Fiftees GO
