Hey there everybody.
No doubt many of you heard about the absolute fiasco involving the HMRC (HM Revenue and customs) files that went missing a few days ago in England. What a freaking joke, basically thousands of (hopefully) law abiding citizens, who go about their normal daily lives are now wide open to identity theft by criminals, who now have access to their personal details.
What could they do with this info? well for starters they could get into your bank accounts (so kiss your cash goodbye) and even apply for credit in the hapless victims name…pretty damn sucky if you ask me. Who exactly has these discs then? nobody knows of course, maybe some idiot threw them out with the trash, or returned them to the video store instead of his copy of “Herbie goes Bananas“.
I too was a little worried, because I have a account over in England, but I was happy to hear (not so happy for others of course) that the discs that went missing comprised of people who had recieved child benefit payments….I most certainly dont have any of those
