HAPPY MONDAY everyone…the majority of you are either sitting at your 9-5 job right now, getting ready for exams or just chilling. Soaking in all the memories from the weekend, reminding yourself it’s Monday and trying to get hold of your mates for the week’s plan…
Durban’s Saturday night was just magical…we got to witness the punk band NOFX play in Durban, South Africa. This American skate punk band was formed in 1983 in California. Their diverse music(generally focusing on issues such as politics, religion, society and the music industry)is legendary and made the band one of the most successful punk bands of all times.
Gateways Wave House was packed with a diverse crowd. All ages and interesting personalities, all of which were honoring the punk genre. The Gauteng based, ska punk band fUZigiSh was the chosen opening band for NOFX. They introduced the crowd to the insane night. Devoted fans made a thriving punk circle that filled the tent.
NOFX was indescribable. There’s something about seeing one of your all time favorite bands playing live in your home town that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Not only where they exactly what I expected (amusing in a drunken madness) but they were rude, insulting and all round fantastic. It was a well deserved treat to us durbanites.
Now to build a time machine so I can re-live the night over and over again!!!
