Tiesto Cape Town Party

tiestoHi there one and all.

Do you know any good trance music? Tiesto has made such a huge name for himself over the years, that his name has become a generic answer to this question. He already has a handful of “now classic” tracks to his name like Adagio for strings, Forever today and Lethal industry…granted there will be some of you who don’t recognize them, but I bet if you heard them you would know them instantly, such is his very unique sound and style.

Last weekend saw the arrival of Tiesto to Cape Town, on his country wide tour of South Africa. He played at @mosphere on Friday night and the place was packed, the dance floor was like a can full of very fat sardined, perhaps a bit too crammed for my liking, because there was no space to dance. He played some of his new stuff as well as a bit of the older material, which had everybody going crazy (in a good way).

Overall it was a good night, although the space was a issue and also he started his set quite late (1:00am), this after the ticket said to be there at nine, sheeesh. listen i know its important to showcase other DJ’s before Tiesto does his set, but get on the freaking stage man, do what you came to do…oh the suspense. Who does he think he is Metallica. :D

At any rate listening to Tiesto spinning and watching him on the big screens is really something, Tiesto’s skill is obvious, hes one of the best…no arguments there. You can see by his facial expression (you would be surprised) and the way in which he tweaks and corrects his music that hes on a whole different level.

So tell me did any of our fellow eSquardians get a chance to go, seems everybody I spoke to had freaking complimentary tickets…obviously my connections in this matter suck (sadness) ;)

If you have any pics of the Tiesto party or comments on what you thought of the jol, send em through.

Catch you all on the flip side.

    Hey there!

Yip, didn’t mind standing like a sardine, only problem was waiting so looong in the sardine position - he he - that was super annoying! Love his music though!!

Hmmm not sure when he will be coming back again Bronwyne.
There was talk on Facebook that Tiesto, Infected Mushroom and Daftpunk would all be playing at a gig in Kirstenbosh gardens….however that is a BIG FAT LIE…your best chance is going to his homepage and checking the tour schedule…failing that drop his team a mail ;)
